Barnaby Jones was the detective series which ran on CBS from 1973 to 1980. It starred Buddy Ebsen as a retired private investigator who worked with his widowed daughter-around law Betty (Lee Meriwether), at first to solve a slaying of his boy & her hubby. Them decided that it worked together thus swell, that it continued to keep a detective professional open. Until a cancellation of the series Cannon, the characters of each series moved backward and forward between them shows. Within 1976, the character of J. R., Barnaby's immature cousin-german (Mark Shera), joined the cast. He got are to try to solve a slaying of his father, however stayed about to help Barnaby & Betty when besides attending law school.
